European Tour 2008
Troop 451 will visit with our British Friends and attend the Irish National Jamboree in the summer of 2008.  Expect a departure date near July 22, and a return date near August 10.  Cost will not exceed $3,000.00.

Philmont 2008
The Philmont arrival date is 2 JUL 08.  We will have 2 crews.  That means we can have between 14 and 24 people.  If you want to go to Philmont, one must seize the opportunity.  To go a scout must either be 14 by 1JAN08 or have completed the 8th grade and be 13 by 2JUL08.  The cost will more than likely be $ 1400.00.  The general plan is to head to Denver, climb 2 14ers in CO, do an over night hike in the Tetons (read get into some snow), day visit Yellowstone, day hike the Grand Canyon, and do Philmont.  This can all change based on what the scouts want to do.

Scoutmaster named Tarheel of the Week
The News and Observer has named Jim Salamon Tar Heel of the Week, and there is a great picture and write-up about about him and Troop 451 in the May 13 Raleigh News and Observer.  Congratuations Jim !
