If you want directions to one place, and chose “Directions To” to bring up Google Maps that will allow you to find directions from wherever you are. Estimated travel times for out-of-town places are from Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Westminster Presbyterian Church

The church entrance is at the intersection of Shannon Road and Old Chapel Hill Road. Troop 451 usually meets at the Calhoon Cabin, to the right of the sanctuary. More Info

Occoneechee Council Scout Shop

Take I-40 East towards Raleigh. Take the Wade Avenue exit, then take the Inner Beltline (I-440 North) to the Wake Forest Road exit. Turn right onto Wake Forest Road, then left onto East Six Forks Road, then left onto Atlantic Ave. The Council office and Scout Shop building is on the left.  Travel time: 30 minutes

Camp Raven Knob

Take I-40 West. Take Exit 193B (US 52 North) in Winston-Salem. Stay on US 52 for about 33 miles. Take I-74 West. Stay on I-74 for about 12 miles. Take Exit 6, NC 89, and turn left towards Galax . Stay on NC 89 for about 4.7 miles. Turn left at the Camp Raven Knob sign, on Ledonia Church Road. Turn left on Blevins Store Road. Turn RIGHT on to Raven Knob Rd (steep hill).  Travel time: 2 hours, 15 minutes

Camp Tuscarora

Take I-40 East to Exit # 341
• Take exit # 341 for NC-50/NC-55 toward US-13/Newton Grove
• Turn left at Harnett-Dunn Hwy/NC-50/NC-55 and continue to follow for 1.3 miles
• At the traffic circle, take the 5th exit onto US-701/Smithfield St.
• Continue north on US-701/Smithfield St for 2.6 miles
• Turn right on Harper House Road and proceed 6.0 miles
• Turn left at Bentonville Rd and proceed 1.7 miles
• Turn right on Scout Rd proceed 1.5 miles
• Entrance to camp will be on your left.
Tavel Time: 1.75 hours

Camp Durant

Take US 15-501 south to Carthage, NC. Take NC 24/27 through Carthage. Take a left at the “Occoneechee Scout Camps” sign past Carthage.  Travel time: 1 hour, 10 minutes

Camp Campbell

Take I-85 North. In Henderson, take Exit 214 and turn left onto NC 39. After 13.5 miles, turn right on Rock Springs Church Road, at the signs for Presbyterian Point and Henderson Point. After driving 3+ miles and entering Virginia, take a hard left to Mill Creek Road, at the dumpsters. (If you come to the Presbyterian Point entrance, you’ve gone too far.) Take a right at the Camp Campbell gate 1/2 mile down the road. It is a red metal gate, with no sign. Follow the winding road 1/2 mile , bear to the left when the road forks, and the campsite is another 1/2 mile down the road.  Travel time: 1 hours, 20 minutes

Hammocks Beach State Park (Bear Island)

Take I-40 East to Exit 364 (NC 24). Turn left on NC 24. Just before Swansboro, turn right on SR 1511.  Travel time: 3 hours, 30 minutes

Hanging Rock State Park

Take I-40 west to Winston-Salem, then exit on US 52 North. Take a right on NC 65, then a left on NC 66, then a right on Moore’s Spring Road (SR 1001).  Travel time: 1.5 hours.

Badin Group Camp, Uwharrie Natl. Forest

Take US 15-501 south to Carthage, NC. Take NC 24/27 through Carthage to Troy. Take a right on NC 109 in Troy. After about 15 miles, follow signs to Badin Lake recreation facilities. Badin Group Camp is on the right side of FR 597A, just beyond the turn-off to the Badin Lake Campground.    Travel time: 2+ hours

Nantahala Outdoor Center, French Broad River

Take I-40 West to exit 53, east of Asheville. Take I-240 West to Exit 4A, US 19/23 North. After 9 miles, exit on US25/70 towards Marshall. NOC is 5 miles, on the left. USFS Silvermine Campground is 15 miles further down, also on the left.   Travel time: 4.5 hours

Philmont Scout Ranch

Take I-40 West to Exit 256, just past Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Take US 84 North to I-25, then take I-25 North to NM 58. Take NM 58 west to Cimarron, then US 64 West to Philmont.   Travel time: 24+ hours non-stop
